I was 21 and had come home from college to celebrate my brother's graduation from optometry school and my best friends bridal shower. My grandmother's mini-van was parked on the hill to our driveway. I had parked it with the parking break on and when she went to leave she didn't know how to release it. She came in to find help and I went with her. We were both standing outside the van when I released the break thinking that the car was in park. However, it wasn't it was in reverse and the car rolled down the driveway into the woods across the road. I was stuck with no where to go. I ended up in the woods with the van and my spine was crushed and L1 had burst. I was paralyzed from the waist down. Through the last 4 months of rehab God has been so faithful. I have had more people write, call, and come to encourage and pray for me than I knew even knew who I was. I was given the opportunity to share how God has been faithful through this accident to over 600 teens. My divorced parents have remarried since the accident. On top of it all I am gaining motor control back to my upper leg muscles and walking in KAFO's!!! I will also be returning to college in the spring.
