I began working for ACN in early September 2005 and am doing incredible. with bonus's and residual income, I will bring in about $3000 in October working 3 days a week when ever I want. I am trying to make $15,000 by December 1, 2005. It is a business where you are the owner, however you are in business for yourself but never by yourself. Each individual helps out each other becaus we all benefit from each other. I figure this idea is either ridiculous or brilliant, So please post back and or e-mail. I really do believe Congress would get a better understanding if the "invisible population" were an economic powerhouse, Really understanding! My goal is to get 14 million unemployed disabled people back in the work force and in control their own lives. My name is Dorothy Dinnigan, on February 21, 2007, my 9 yr old niece Amanda Dinnigan, was in a car accident in Smithtown, New York. As a result, she is now quadriplegic (C1&C2)and requires a ventilator to breath and a round the clock Nursing Staff. Soon after my niece was injured we began fundraising in order to be able to keep her home. Yet the threat of institutionalization is always breathing down our necks. Because the truth of the matter is, her injuries didn't just steal her body, her rights were taken too. Her families rights as well. American's unable to work due to physical disabilities, must by in large, rely on the government to "provide" for them. They're either institutionalized or forced to live on SSI in poverty. Let's face it, if only wealthy people required attendant services, government funding wouldn't be an issue. Simply because the traditional sources of employment/income are no longer options to those who rely on assistant services, especially those who are technology dependent, does not make for an unproductive human. I was first introduced to Multi Level Marketing after I purchased skincare products from an Independent distributor of Arbonne International. After learning how vital skincare is to people with paralysis. I signed up online for the $29.00 membership fee to utilize the 35% discount it offered. That membership gave me my own Consultant number, so I could reorder myself, without needing to contact the woman I purchased from originally. I began purchasing products for my family and I and ordering for friends. Several weeks after signing up online, I received a check from Arbonne. It was only for $45.00, but it got me looking deeper into this companies multilevel marketing commission structure, to see if I could use this system to help raise money for Amanda. Although, since Arbonne’s inception 27 years ago, the distribution had been primary Independent Consultants selling at home parties, impromptu presentations and alike. However, in the last several years there has been a tremendous expansion into Medical Practices, Salons, and Fundraising Organizations. The reason I found is, these professionals have discovered that by offering Arbonne to their existing patients/clients/donors, they are not only complimenting their services, they are enhancing the health of their clients as well. Due to Arbonne’s multi level marketing commission structure this creates a passive residual income based on their existing trade base, without adding office hours or inventory. By their staff becoming business builders as well, immediately compounds the distribution network, thereby accelerating both their practice income and the staff’s as well. For Fundraising Organizations, it’s especially ingenious, given that Arbonne products are consumable; it’s generally not a one-time sale. Opposed to a book, dinner, support bracelet or another one time use item. By virtue of Arbonne’s multi level marketing structure, that donor is linked to that organizations "success line" continually contributing to the Foundation’s fundraising. In addition to creating revenue to them as well. As with all these MLM distribution networks, the key to maximizing proceeds is by creating "business builders". In other words, selling the business forward. The strategy is the same for physically disabled people. NETWORK! Doctor’s offices, Health care assistants, friends, family and especially other disabled people. Get on your computers and sell it forward. Particularly to established businesses and practices. If a quadriplegic person has a voice activated computer, they have the tools they need to produce their own income. Let people know, you are capable, in charge of your own life, you will decide where you will live and how you will live your life. This is an internet based business in which you can work from home. Once you have your Consultant ID #, People can place their orders online and have it shipped directly to their home. Arbonne keeps track of your teams order volume, they update your web stats, and take care of all your processing needs including returns. There is no inventory to keep. I am not paralyzed or physically disabled and before my niece’s accident I was definitely among the clueless about any of these issues for paralyzed people. While I would like to make a living and actually be able to afford health care insurance, now I’m clued in, if you’re a paralyzed Citizen of the United States of America and your not independently wealthy, you do not enjoy the same liberties, freedom, rights and dignities as the rest of the Nation. The irony is, how many people lost those rights by defending them? While Amanda was still in the hospital, we (the family) were informed she’d be placed in a “nursing facility” upon her discharge, because her home was not equipped to accommodate her needs. (well of course it wasn’t) Suddenly, struggling to cope with magnitude of her injury, just got trumped with the fact that my brother and his wife were no longer truly their daughter’s guardian. Medicaid does not provide instruction on how a explain to your child, not only are you paralyzed from the neck down, but your not allowed to come home and live with Mommy & Daddy and your siblings anymore. We’re still your parents, it’s just that we don’t have any say over you anymore. So to put it blatantly, we hauled ass, and literally pulled our own Extreme Home Makeover, with the generous help and support of the Testaverde fund, our community and the most wonderful friends, we rebuilt the house from the foundation up. Why not just widen the doors and hallways? Because the foundation had to be reinforced to support the weight of her hospital bed, equipment and back up generators. When Amanda came home, we wanted to make sure she was staying home. As if that weren’t enough to motivate me, Just recently we took Amanda to the movies, Nightmare before Christmas in 3D! It was probably her 1st public outing, that wasn’t medically or fundraising related since she got home in June. She was so excited, we really had a great time. Just as we were leaving, I turned around to see if it was clear for us to exit when I was stopped dead in my tracks by a group of people frozen with a look of horror on their faces. My heart jumped and I spun back around to see what had happened… Amanda happened to them. This group of people were simply not prepared to see a little girl paralyzed from the chin down, and her life support strapped to her and her chair. They were at the movies after all, not a hospital or nursing home. I am coming to terms with the fact that I can not put my fist down their throats and scream she is a beautiful, brilliant, loving little girl that can see you look at her like that, by getting proactive. She is a human with every right to be here! It’s time to get people out of institutions and into their own communities. Think of Nationwide changes that can be made, by people having the resources to make their own homes accessible, choosing their own care assistance, boycotting products, services, and programs that support the discrimination of disabled American.
