| JJ Member #: 108 # Posts: 11 | I just recently started to play wheelchair softball for my rehab center here in Chicago and its a great time. We actually will travel for a few of our tournaments in the next few months. In June we will be In Columbus, OH and Chicago and in July we are in WI, OH, and back in Chicago. The national tournament is going to be held in New York. Im not positive of the dates and times yet but if you would like to know just post or email me. Also in July and August I go to Twin Lakes, Wi and do water ski clinincs. We do day trips and also a 3 day trip. In August I also go on a camping trip to the Mississippi Palisades where we kayak, hike, and go rock climbing. I cant wait for this summer to be here but I do have to fit 4 weddings in there too.. | Ray Member #: 44 # Posts: 12 | JJ Where did you do your rehab? I am from the west burbs of Chicago. I did my rehab at Marionjoy. I regained a little movement in my legs and feet and Marionjoy didn't seem to do anything or be impressed. I am now doing outpaitent at RIC. I do miss softball, golf and ice skating. | JJ Member #: 108 # Posts: 11 | Ray I did all of my therapy at RIC but havent been there for therapy in about a year or so ago. Who is your therapist on the 12th floor? I stop by the center probably about once a week if time permits me to. I normally stop by the 7th floor and visit but I do get to the 12th floor every now and then. I will actually be there tomorrow morning to get fit for my sport wheelchair. Ask your therapist about some of the programs that are going on they should know. Our first tourny in Chicago is on the 25th and 26th of June and then 30th and 31st of July. We do practice on Monday nights at 6:30 and on Saturday at Noon. We play at California and Irving Park on the North Side of Chicago. I am from the West burbs to (Elmhurst). Maybe i'll catch you around the center sometime. JJ 5/26/2005 2:44 PM |
| Ray Member #: 44 # Posts: 12 | I am there on Tuesday and Thursdays. My therapists have been Jennifer, Heather and Walter. Walter being my main one. | JJ Member #: 108 # Posts: 11 | For everyone that is in the Chicagoland area we have softball practice on Monday nights from 6:30 till around 8:30 and on Saturday from noon till about 3. I would encourage you just to come out and watch to see how things are. Our field that we play on is on the corner of Irving Park and California on the northside. | JJ Member #: 108 # Posts: 11 | For all of you in Chicagoland area there will be a softball tournament in Chicago on June 25th and 26th. The games will start around 9am and go till about 3 or so. | JJ Member #: 108 # Posts: 11 | Chicago is hosting another softball tournament this coming weekend at the same park as posted before. Games start at 9am and last one starts at 2pm.
